About Me

I am a full time working Mama to an amazing 2 year-old little boy, Wyatt.

Born and raised in Wyoming.
Yes, that is in the USA and no, we don't use horses as our main source of transportation. We are past the Pony Express era.

I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I was a chubby child, overweight teenager, and even bigger adult. After seeing Christmas photos in 2008, I decided it was time to make a change. I joined Jillian Michaels website and lost over 50 pounds from a combination of counting calories, circuit training and running.

I didn't record my weights so I'm not positive of exact weightloss. I'm 200ish on the left, 145ish on the right.

I reached a several-month-long plateau and got discouraged. Instead of being happy with where I was and working on maintaining, I went back to some old habits and gained over 20 lbs back.

I weighed in at 172 at the first doctor's appointment of my pregnancy. My pregnancy was "high risk" from the get-go and I was told no exercising. I took this as "be as lazy as possible and eat as much as you possibly can." I gained 50 lbs (the last month of bedrest definitely didn't help the situation).

I delivered Wyatt at 220 lbs after a week long labor and emergency c-section. He is my little miracle baby and worth every second.

Sadly, I don't have a single picture of myself from my pregnancy and am not sure if I even have any of myself in the hospital. This is something I regret every single day, and probably always will. I was too disgusted with myself. Disgusted that I had even gained the 20 lbs prior to my pregnancy, let alone the 50 that followed.

I promised myself the day the day that Wyatt was born that I would lose the baby weight by his first birthday. His first birthday came and went, and I'm fairly certain I was still around 200 lbs.

I found excuse after excuse for why I couldn't get healthy.
Finally, after a very challenging 2012, I got my wake up call and started my weight-loss/get fit journey in March of 2013.

I started this blog as a way to document my journey and hold myself accountable.

Aside from my Chubby Tiff background, I love anything in a shade a green.
I live for camping and the great outdoors.
Am obsessed with Jillian Michaels.
Terrified of jellyfish (the most evil creature on this earth)
I love to craft and crochet (although that's on a bit of a back burner as I start my fitness journey).
And am completely fascinated by hot air balloons and dream of the day I get own ride in one.

This is me.  Life According to Tiffany.

  1. Hi Tiff! New to your blog and think we are long lost sisters. I have a 2 year old boy also, and am from Kansas. Although it's much different from Wy, we get a lot of 'are there buildings there, or just corn fields', or 'did you love the Wizard of Oz as a kid'. Seriously, people? Ugh. :) Anyway, can't wait to read more!

    1. Welcome! Oh my, I bet the Wizard of Oz comments get old! I once had someone asking me about cows (they had never seen a cow! I still can't get over this) anyways, over the course of the conversation, she said she had always believed you could only get chocolate milk from a brown cow. Waaaah??? ha!

  4. Wow, your picture on the Girls Gone Sporty caught my eye with a backpack on, and I am so happy I checked out your "about page." You and I sound so much alike from teenage years to our child's birth and to this day. Although I am somewhat older than you:)

    Keep up the good work

I plan to read more soon....
